LOFT Theatre Festival Closing Ceremony

The second edition of the LOFT Theatre Festival was ended on April,24 with the Krasnoyarsk Pushkin Drama Theater’s performance "Nous, les héros" ( J.-L. Lagarce) staged by the chief director Oleg Rybkin. For two weeks our audience was watching the best performances from all over Russia: from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Perm, Seversk, Yaroslavl, Vyborg, Lodeynoye Pole. During the Festival 14 performances were shown, more than 300 people took part in the festival and 2,600 spectators got the tickets to get to know the theatrical art of the country in all its diversity!

Despite the fact that the Festival was not competitive, there was a jury consisted of the leading theater experts from Moscow and St. Petersburg: Maya Romanova, Olga Galakhova, Tatiana Tkach, Yuri Kobets, Alexey Pasuev, Elena Alekseeva, Elena Serova. The chairman of the jury was Eleonora Makarova, head of the criticism cabinet of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation, PhD in art history and Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation.

At the final press conference, the jury underlined the wide geography of the festival program and thanked the organizers for the opportunity to see modern theatrical Russia.

A special guest of the festival was Daria Mosunova, a famous blogger and journalist from Krasnoyarsk, mother of 4 children and director of the Astafiev Fund. A trip to the LOFT festival was a gift for Daria from the Theatre on Vasilievsky for reviewing the theatre's performances during our tour in Krasnoyarsk.

Artistic director of the Theatre on Vasilievsky Vladimir Slovokhotov announced that the author of the best (not necessarily positive) review of the Theatre's performances during our tours will be invited as a guest to the next festival. In 2022 at the LOFT Festival we will wait for the author of the best review from Tyumen as the Theatre is coming there on tour in June!

We are glad that the second edition of the LOFT Theater Festival was a great success, we thank all the participants, journalists, jury members, organizers, and, of course, our beloved spectators!
