Leningrad. Madonna Lida is a documentary, pure and delicate story of Leningrad woman Lydia, who managed to save her two children and move them outside the city due to her everyday feat and self-sacrifice during the most terrible period of the Leningrad siege in March of 1942. This story shows us everyday life of an ordinary communal apartment on Vasilievsky Island during the most difficult months of the winter of 1941-1942 and is full of incredible drama, humor and warmth at the same time. Where did those forces to live come from when it seemed like they were no longer there? The performance is about the real feat that has no equal in the world history.
